Newick custom 50′ fast trimaran racer cruiser

Lucky Strike is a 50 foot trimaran built in 1985 to a Dick Newick design, with very sleek lines and optimised for solo racing with a nod toward the basic amenities required for fast cruising and life aboard. Ordered and built for the current owner who has cherished her from new.

She has accomodation for 4 in two cabins plus a galley and the systems have been kept very simple and easy to maintain.

She was built in 1985 by a well regarded builder from Michigan, of carbon reinforced composites over cedar and ash, with a carbon dagger board and rudder, and rigged with a carbon wing mast and boom.

Launched in 1987 and kept on the great lakes until recently, with many race wins to her credit.

She was sailed down to the Caribbean in 2015 as a competitor in the ARC 1500 Rally and has since competed in the RORC Caribbean 600, finishing fourth in 2016 and third in 2017 behind the MOD 70’s  Phaedo and Maserati, not bad for a boat that is now 30 years old, a testament to her build strength and the standard to which she has been maintained.

With tiller steering, plus a tiller pilot, the minimum of electronics and a full complement of safety gear.

She comes with a full set of recent North 3DL race sails, plus two asymetric spinnakers, a staysail and storm sail.

With beautiful lines and a turn of speed that most other yacht owners can only dream about, Lucky Strike turns heads wherever she goes.

Currently lying in Antigua, please contact Richard Watson for the full specification and to arrange an inspection.

Offered for sale at US$ 225,000.
