1986 Whisstocks 49 foot custom centre cockpit offshore cruiser

NEW LISTING

CALETA was built to Lloyds 100A+ by Whisstocks Ltd of Woodbridge, Suffolk, England, in 1986 to a design by Steve Dalzell and is still owned by the original owner who commissioned her build.

She is an aluminium hulled centreboard ketch with a raised deck saloon and pilot house designed with very gracious lines and wide decks.

She has two forestays for twin headsails, twin poles, and a cutterstay for a self tacking staysail which can be reefed to a storm jib. The standing rigging is all over-sized for safety.

The winches are all self tailing and the boat is well set up for singlehanded long distance sailing.

There is plenty of deck storage including a deep full width stern lazarette and stainless steel stern davitts to carry a heavy dinghy.

The original teak laid decks have been replaced with durable synthetic teak.

The pilot house allows for excellent visibility in inclement weather, with 6′ 3″ headroom and contains the helm and a full size chart table.

Down below there is accomodation for 7 in three double cabins plus a sea berth in the navigation area with visual access to the helm.

The master suite is aft with a double berth to starboard and a sofa to port separated by a dresser. The en-suite heads contains a head, vanity basin and shower.

Forward of the saloon are two twin cabins each containing two single berths one of which can be convented in a double, with a forward head compartment and a workshop in the bow.

The saloon has 7’6″ headroom with a large U shaped sofa and dining table to starboard with a sofa to port and even boasts a cocktail cabinet with the original Waterford crystal glassware.

The galley is to port of the engine room and is equipped with a propane stove with 3 burner hob, a back up paraffin hob, fridge with 12v Danfoss compressor, twin stainless sinks and a microwave.

To starboard of the engine compartment is the nav station and a sea berth.

With 200 gallons of fresh water tankage, 120 gallons of fuel and a reliable Perkins 4.236 80hp diesel engine.

Caleta was built very strong by a well regarded yard and to a high specification however she is still fitted with much of her original equipment. Whilst she remains in daily use sailing between the Caribbean islands and as a liveaboard she is now in need of a refit, on completion of which she will be a very strong, safe and comfortable boat to cross the worlds Oceans.

Lying in Antigua and priced accordingly at just US$ 69,950.
