1983 Oyster 43 performance cruiser

Oyster’s are fabulous yachts and this Oyster 43 was designed by Stephen Jones in the early 1980’s as a performance cruiser with sleek lines.

This example  # 43 – 06 was built in 1983 at Landamores in the UK where Oyster still build their current range of luxurious cruising yachts and is believed to be the first oyster ever registered in the United States.

With two double cabins and a single head with shower, plus three sea berths and a convertible saloon, there is accommodation for nine in total along with ample storage.

Repowered in 2012 with a Volvo 40hp diesel, still with low hours, and with new standing rigging in 2016.

Fitted for long distance cruising with solar panels, Spectra watermaker, Monitor wind vane steering plus a Cetrek autopilot, Raymarine instruments, Garmin plotter, SSB, and a good dinghy with a 9.8hp outboard.

With an extensive sail wardrobe and a good selection of ground tackle.

Back in Antigua after cruising between St Martin and the US Virgin Islands,  having just completed a lengthy circumnavigation.

A fabulous long distance performance cruiser with an excellent pedigree, ready to go round the world again.
